Funding the escrow
Paying by card through DOKU, the 7-day window, and what to do if the page does not update.
A new contract starts unfunded. The talent is told not to begin work until the money is in escrow, so funding quickly is the fastest way to get started.
How to pay
Open the contract and choose to fund it. You are redirected to DOKU, our licensed Indonesian payment processor, to pay by card. Freelo never sees or stores your card details. Once paid you are sent back to the contract page.
A contract that is not funded within 7 days is cancelled automatically. The dashboard shows a banner for any unfunded contract so it does not slip past you.
I paid, but the contract still says unfunded
Give it a moment. The confirmation comes from DOKU directly to Freelo, not from your browser, so it can land a few seconds after you return. The contract page checks for it repeatedly for about a minute after you come back from payment.
If it still has not updated after that, reload the page. If it is still unfunded and your card was charged, contact support with the contract link — do not pay a second time.
Payment links expire
A DOKU checkout link is valid for one hour. If you start a payment and abandon it, returning to the contract within that hour reuses the same link; after it expires, a fresh one is created for you.
What is not supported
- Card payment only — no bank transfer, virtual account, or e-wallet yet.
- No stored balance or wallet. You fund each contract individually.
- No partial funding. The full contract amount is paid in one go.
